In May, our Good Deed Essay Contest came to a close.  While we received many entries from such amazing kids, we could only choose one winner: Andrew Travis, who is 10 years old and lives in Grabill, wrote about how he helped an elderly lady who was wearing an oxygen mask load her groceries into her car at the grocery store.  He said that he chose to help her because he felt bad that she was struggling; after he assisted her, he felt better for being able to help somebody who needed it more than he did. What a great kid!

Our summer contest has begun!  This year, we're doing a spin-off of the book "Flat Stanley," so instead of taking Stanley around, our patients get to take "Flat Dr. Cohen" with them!  Take him on vacation with you (or if you're not going anywhere, take him somewhere when you do something fun, like going putt putt-ing, or go-karting!), and send us a photo or video of what you and Doc are doing!  There will be four winners, but possibly five, judged on the farthest vacation spot, most creative photo/video (we might choose a most creative photo AND video), most creative/flashiest Dr. Cohen (you can decorate him however you'd like!), and the funniest story from a trip that includes Dr. Cohen!

Be creative! We are excited to see what you send us. :)  The Flat Dr. Cohen is available at the front desk in both of our offices, but if you won't be in before you leave for your trip, call or email Courtney (489-8989; courtney@docronsmiles.com), so that we can send you a digital copy of Flat Doc for you to print out at home!  The contest runs through the end of August.
