His experience in dentistry, since dental school, began as a Captain in the United States Air Force / Dental Corps from 1976 to 1979 (Meritorious Service Commendation Medal 1979). He then was dentist-in-charge at St. Francis Hospital Neighborhood Health Center Clinic 1979 to 1981. After orthodontic school, he was in practice in Kona, Hawaii, from 1983 to 1987 and moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 1987. He has been in practice in Fort Wayne, Indiana, since 1987.
Dr. Cohen lectures on a regular basis for SureSmile. He lectures to orthodontic residents nationwide on orthodontic practice management. Dr. Cohen's family includes his wife, April, and five wonderful children: K.C. (Born in 1984), Courtney (Born in 1986), Caitlin (Born in 1992), Spencer (Born in 1994), and Maxwell (Born in 2003). His hobbies include sports (running, weight lifting, racquetball, golf), reading, and family time.
